Selection using material type only with selection using Customizing field

What causes this issue?

When the material type is used as a selection criterion, selection
must be carried out via the Customizing field.

System Response

The system terminates processing.

How to fix this error?

Specify a selection criterion in the Customizing field, or delete
the specified material type.
