What causes this issue?

You have specified a main asset number that already exists. When using
the cross-company code number assignment, the existing fixed asset can
also be in a different company code.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

The following options are available:
Assign a new main asset number or
create a subnumber for the existing main asset number
