Error writing IDoc status: Database error

What causes this issue?

Status record of IDoc could not be written in the previous step due to
a database error. One possible cause of this error is that there is not
enough space in the database for table EDIDS.

How to fix this error?

Please check to ensure that table EDIDS has enough space.
