No items are elible for preference in document &1

What causes this issue?

You attempted to issue an output that has a preference document
assigned to it, but the related document <ZH>&V1&</> has no preference-
authorized items.

System Response

If you execute the message output in the foreground, the system cancels
the edit process. If you start the message output in the background,
the edit process of the current output is cancelled, but other, future
outputs are processed normally.

How to fix this error?

To analyse the problem, proceed as follows:
Check your settings in Customizing for output <ZH>&V2&</> regarding
print controls for foreign trade outputs. Check the field <LS>Control
doc. type</>, making sure that output type <ZH>&V2&</> is classified
correctly. Then check the settings in output determination. Is a
preference document supposed to be printed for document <ZH>&V1&</>?
