What causes this issue?

Clean-up the metadata cache on your SAP Gateway system for the current
model is necessary because it is outdated.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

&WHAT_TO_DO&,,
When using component SAP_GWFND (NW 7.40) or IW_FND and IW_BEP (NW
7.0x-7.3x) from SP 10 onwards and all used DDIC structures are
referenced in your Model Provider Class (MPC) via a data type definition
such as lr_<DDIC_Name> TYPE REF TO <DDIC_Name>, the outdated metadata
cache on your SAP Gateway system will be cleaned up automatically at the
end of the current request processing. So you don't need to manually
clean-up the metadata cache because the SAP Gateway framework will load
the new metadata for processing the next service request.
In all other cases, you have to clean up the metadata cache on your SAP
Gateway system for the current model as follows:
Log-in to the hub system
Open the implementation guide (IMG) in transaction SPRO.
Choose SAP Reference IMG.
Choose SAP NetWeaver -> SAP Gateway -> OData Channel -> Administration
-> Cache Settings -> Metadata.
Execute Clear Cache for the affected model.
