Metadata cache on hub system outdated; execute OData request again

What causes this issue?

Clean-up of the metadata cache on your hub system for the current model
is necessary because it is outdated.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

&WHAT_TO_DO&,,
After this error occurs the metadata cache on your hub system should be
cleaned-up automatically. The next OData request of this service should
work. Therefore simply execute the OData request again that has led to
this error.
In case the automatic cache clean-up did not work, you need to clean up
the metadata cache manually on your hub system for the current model as
follows:
Log-in to the hub system
Open the implementation guide (IMG) in transaction SPRO.
Choose SAP Reference IMG.
Choose SAP NetWeaver ->SAP Gateway -> OData Channel -> Administration ->
Cache Settings -> Metadata.
Execute Clear Cache for the affected model.
