Error during current number assignment in CO

What causes this issue?

Internal system error
An error occurred during conversion of the temporary CO document
numbers to permanent document numbers. One CO document header contains
the temporary document number &V1&. This number is not in the internal
table for conversion to permanent document numbers.

System Response

From a CO perspective, the data is inconsistent and cannot be posted.
