Mat. type & does not allow optimum lot-sizing procedures

What causes this issue?

Optimum lot sizes are only allowed if accounting data can be created
for a material since prices are necessary for optimum lot-sizing
procedures. However, the maintenance of accounting data is not defined
for the material type chosen for the material.
