Batch & for material & in plant & already exists

What causes this issue?

The system cannot create batch &V1& for material &V2&, because it
already exists in plant &V3&.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

You can carry out the following actions:
Display the list of existing batches for the material using the stock
overview option.
<DS:TRAN.MMBE>Proceed</>
Display the data of batch &V1&.
<DS:TRAN.MSC3>Proceed</>
If the existing batch and the new batch are to be managed
separately, you have to make a material-to-material transfer posting to
transfer one of the two batches to a new batch number.
