You cannot use the material & for retail (MAW1 missing)

What causes this issue?

The material &V1& has been created with the material master for
industry, and cannot be used in retail.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Choose a retail material or use transactions MM01, MM02, and MM03 for
extending, changing, and displaying industry materials
respectively.
