Material ledger not active in valuation area &1

What causes this issue?

You want to activate <DS:GLOS.352A5A2FC1035CD5E10000009B38F974>actual
costing</> although the material ledger in valuation area &v1& is not
active and no data has been prepared for the material ledger.
(Production startup).

System Response

Despite this, you can still activate actual costing.

How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

Procedure for System Administrators

To do this, you have to:
activate the valuation area &v1& for the material ledger in Customizing
by choosing the <LS>maintain entries</> function from this message
prepare the data for the material ledger (production startup) by
choosing <LS>Accounting -> Controlling -> Actual costing/material ledger
-> Utilities -> Production startup</> in the application or by choosing
<DS:TRAN.CKMSTART>Proceed</>.
