What causes this issue?

No more numbers are free in the number range interval assigned to this
control cycle.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Check the interval in Customizing for Kanban and, if necessary,
increase it.
