Item '&' cannot be deleted, tasks were created

What causes this issue?

Item &v1& could not be deleted, since tasks were already created for
item &v1&.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

First delete the task (s) for item &v1& and perform the deletion
operation again.
