Object &1 does not contain a reference to the notification

What causes this issue?

The selected object does not correspond with the specified reference
object for the notification. For example, the selected batch is not a
batch for the material that is specified as the reference object in the
notification.

System Response

The system does not assign the object to the notification item.

How to fix this error?

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.
