Characteristic & not contained in planning area

What causes this issue?

This characteristic has not been assigned to the planning area.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Assign the characteristic to the planning area in S&DP
Administration by assigning the characteristic to the master planning
object structure on which the the planning area is based.
Note: To change the master planning object structure you must
deactivate it first. Make sure you save all planning books to InfoCubes
before you do this. Otherwise you may lose your data.
Alternatively you could choose another characteristic.
