No characteristic value combination created for product &1 and PPM/PDS &2

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

What causes this issue?

In order to plan demand using the bill of material function, you must
create characteristic value combinations that include product &1v&and
PPM &v2&. Creating characteristic value combinations is a two stage
process. First you enter and save the other characteristic values; you
then assign PPMs to the existing combinations.
