Create a number range for documents from the CO interface

What causes this issue?

In cost accounting, postings from other SAP modules are written to
separate documents. The SAP System cannot assign numbers to these
documents because no number range is maintained for controlling area
&V2& and transaction &V3&.

How to fix this error?

Maintain number ranges for controlling area &V2&. You must assign
element &V3& to a group and define an internal number range for this
group.
