Deletion is not possible (dependent records exist)

What causes this issue?

You want to delete a master data object. However, transaction data
still exists for this object.

System Response

The program does not execute the deletion.

How to fix this error?

Referenced master data should not be deleted. Procedures for special
cases are known by the various support levels, if required.
