Logistics switch change is not possible. Material has no validity

What causes this issue?

The logistics switch for the version can only be maintained, if a
validity/change number has been entered.

System Response

The system issues an error message and will not allow you to continue with this transaction until the error is resolved.

How to fix this error?

Enter a change number in the field "Validity" (Validity type PVESCM)
