What is repetitive manufacturing?

Lean manufacturing is a manufacturing strategy aimed at minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency. Repetitive manufacturing (REM) in SAP is a production type that leverages lean manufacturing to manufacture stable products with processes that are relatively simple over a significant period of time. A critical component of REM manufacturing is the REM profile, which can determine whether the production is to MTO or MTS amongst many other control functions.
